Take a Hidden Object Game, submerge it in water, throw in various man made items, and a virtual aquarium, and you've got Fishdom H2O: Hidden Odyssey for Nintendo 3DS! Developed by Cypronia and Playrix!
STORY:
Jennifer, a young marine biologist, is graduating from the Environmental Protection University, and is trying to win the Best Aquarium Award! Help her add fish to her aquarium by playing hidden object challenges!
GAMEPLAY:
The game features a Relaxed No Timer Mode and an Against the clock Timed Mode! Depending on how you want to play the hidden object games, you can choose between the two!
Simply find and tap the different objects that are listed. It can be challenging as they are all jumbled up on the screen, and hidden well. You will then earn money after finding the objects, which you can use to buy different fish and plants for your aquarium!
CONTENT:
The game is brimming with fun content! With loads of hidden object challenges, and fish and plants to put into your aquarium.
CONTROLS:
Simply use the stylus to tap and drag the touchscreen, to find the different hidden objects throughout each challenge! The controls work very well, and are very fluent!
3D VISUALS/GRAPHICS:
The 3D effect of the Aquarium is Outstanding! The Aquarium feels real, and it stretches very far into the screen! It looks as though the fish have a lot of space to swim around! Also Blowing into the 3DS Mic allows for 3D bubbles to float on the screen!
But i must say the visual presentation of the hidden object game looks very poor. This game looks like it was meant to be on the Nintendo DS in many ways. I wish that the overall visuals were better, and pushed the 3DS systems limits.
With the exception of the 3D Aquarium, everything else just looks lousy.
MUSIC:
The soundtrack for this game is spot on! The music is very serene and creates an amazing ambience! It makes finding objects all the better, and is one of the highlights of the game for me!
THE VERDICT:
Fishdom H2O: Hidden Odyssey is a clever game, full of great music, 3D visuals, and content! The overall hidden object visuals could have been better, but they don't stop this game from being fun! So if you like hidden object games, and virtual aquariums, go ahead and pick this up!
SHIGERU REVIEWS SCORE:
9/10
